We showed you pictures of Lucy-Jo Hudson a few weeks ago, looking svelte. The ex- Coronation Street actress has faced some criticism for current weight lossbut we believe she looks amazing. Now the actress has said that it is her new shorter hair that tends to make her appear thinner.

Lucy-Jo lost weight for her wedding two years ago and is a wholesome size 8. She married the actor who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the soap.

Hudson was a size 14 just before losing weight and she has spoken about the furore about her weight loss in Closer magazine this month:

‘It’s all a bit strange, genuinely. I’ve been this weight – about 8st – because my wedding in June 2009, but I’ve had a lot of attention in the past couple of weeks.

‘I believe it’s something to do with the pixie-style haircut I’ve had – it tends to make me appear slimmer.’

‘I was 18 when I joined Corrie and for the duration of my initial year I put on a lot of weight.

‘I was a size 14 and weighed 10st following a couple of years on the show, which was heavy for me simply because I’m petite. I felt really unfit and wasn’t pleased with the way I looked.’
