The late Steve Work was honored with a Grammy Trustees Award on Saturday for his contributions to the new music market, which integrated assisting to buildthe iPod and reshaping the way new music is sold with the iTunes Shop.
The award is designed to “recognize contributions to the songs industry in places other than functionality,” CBS Information studies, and was accepted by Apple’s SVP of Net Software package and Solutions Eddy Cue.
“Accepting this award signifies so considerably to me because music designed so much to him,” Cue said at the awards ceremony. “He informed us that audio formed his existence. It created him who he was. Everybody who knows Steve understands the profound effect that artists like Bob Dylan and the Beatles had on him.”
Apple was formerly awarded a specialized Grammy in 2002, but this award is meant specifically for Work. Other recipients of this 12 months’s Trustees Awards consist of band leader Dave Bartholomew and jazz engineer Rudy Van Gelder. Previous winners contain Walt Disney and The Beatles, business that we’re positive Work opportunities wouldn’t mind standing alongside.
