Although the McGee home may appear like any other new designer residence in the neighborhood, its partitions inform a various story. Created by husband and spousecrewKarl Wanaselja and Cate Leger of Leger Wanaselja Architecture, the higher exterior walls of the property are built from more than 100 salvaged vehicle roofs. In a pursuit to construct a property that used green technologies and reused components, the couple sourced vehicle roofs from a choice of grey-colored cars that had been left for components in local junk yards in Berkeley, California. Their largest challenge was sourcing vehicle scraps that have been in comparatively great condition, with out dents and with a very good paint finish.
